COMPANION ANIMAL PROGRAM SOCIAL EVENTS
Each June there is a picnic for all Pet Partners -handlers and animals. This event includes all sorts of games for the animals including relay races, doggy square dancing, musical mats and other funny and fun exercises for everyone involved. Just to keep things interesting there is always a surprise event - each year - sometimes costumes, sometimes an unexpected competition.
Every December there is a Christmas Party for humans only - a potluck supper with entertainment and presentation of special awards. This gathering allows CAP members and their families and friends to enjoy each others' company without the distraction of the animals. Usually 50-75 people attend. It gets everyone into the Christmas spirit. This event is usually held at the Orleans Senior Center.
Each year the town of Chatham has a weekend - the second in May - to welcome the return of warmer weather and those who winter elsewhere. CAP members man an information booth with brochures and pictures for interested townspeople. This event is an opportunity for newcomers and others who might not know about CAP and what this organization does throughout the Cape. CHATHAM FOURTH OF JULY PARADE
